join the clique!

Fashion news flash:
Cheapo hoochie mama is the new 'it" when it comes to clothing...
Don't look all surprised, you know I've been shopping at conway, payless, kmart, and street vendors for years, but behold I have found the shamayim of evening dresses!

CLIQUERS on 34th street between broadway and seventh avenue.

In 1998 I ventured into this cheezy store for a purim costume ( fake fur suit, tres tacky- tres "nanny")
yesterday walking to meet a friend, I saw a lovely evening dress in the window and thought I'd poke around a bit..

shoved through the tourists, the cut out "hot mama" shirts ( if you need to wear the words...)
went down to the lower level and behold and incredible selection! Gorgeous, unique evening dresses and each came with a scarf so you can easily make sleeves!
The fun doesn't stop there, The prices, a real joke! 58 bucks for a gown? Ha!
they also carry little shrugs and jackets in about 10 colors to go over the dresses and a selction of evening shoes, cute evening purses and an assortment of underthings/girdles to make you look like the Miss America you so know you are!

so what are you waiting for, go buy a dress, crash a wedding!

Tweezing Poetic-poem #2 by SG

RIPE

don't look at me
with that face so ripe
that these pearls would bite so gently
as your sweet juice dripped from my chin

don't smile to me when I swish and sway
(just cause I knew you were looking)
and make me feel like your next dance could be my very own

don't stare as I walk away
your eyes burning holes-
stirring my stomach through the small of my back
and the curves I know that lead you there

don't light those eyes for me
puddles afire
the oceans of satiety
from which, I will never my thirst quench

don't you know that
I stare
that I
light
that I
swish
that I
burn
that I
thirst
that I will smile
eventhough I ask you not

tribute to queen Ester

So we all remember back to how Madonna has renamed herself "Ester".
so, does this make her music Jewish?
If so, then here is a "shabbos song" for you from me... but why do I sense a record deal will not be coming out of this blog any time soon...

abducted child

As I write this from my call room, 6 good looking tall men are standing outside the door waiting to talk to me...
no this isn't a result of Jdate, but something far worse...

a child has been abducted from my hospital!!!!

He was being treated for metastatic cancer, there was some custody battle, someone didn't want hime to receive treatment, someone took the law into his/her own hands and ran with the child before anyone could notice. There is a swat team outside the hospital, everyone is being questioned.

This situation as hurtful as it is raises some interesting questions, Did this person have a right? can parents make medical decisions for their children? what if he( the child) wasn't ready to give up his fight? What will become of this child, beaten half to death by chemo the other by radiation, roaming the streets of NY?
will the "someone" swallow their pride and turn the child in at the riskof punishment so the child will be able to survive?
I
pray to God that this child will be in safe hands tonight.

a lullabye for leora

a celebrity in my hospital?!!!

No, I am not talking about another anorexic coked up Los Angeles Lolita admitted for "exhaustion".. though I always wonder what it would be like if they came into my ER!

Today while slaving away at work I turned around to get a chart and behold right before my very eyes, there was a short, bearded guitar holding smiling man with a big letter mem on his black hat and a baseball T emblazoned with "uncle moishy"!

Now, it's right around Purim and I am quite sleep deprived , so I take a step towards him and say, "are you the real uncle moishy?" ( similar to when I was at Macy's as a little one and wondered about the fat bearded man in the red suit who enjoyed children sitting on his lap)

He says simply "yeah"
I must have made some strange face because his wife started laughing at me, but I was floored! Jaw to the floor and all!
I grew up with his music!! How exciting!
Anyway, remembering that I am pretending to be an adult at work, I calmy directed them towards a frum patient that he came to entertain... no autograph, no group shot,
Ok, so this won't make it into US magazine, but cool! hee!

I'll take a shmear with that sushi

this is awesome!

has fashion gone too far?

This is a shirt available on e-bay. It was made by a seamstress in Russia for a man who liked to go clubbing and get noticed. I bet he sure did!

I mean sure this is innovative, but it doesn't beat the shirt that I made out of Macy's bags, much more stylish!

Wanna see it, you'll have to come clubbing with me in Russia!

Good Shabbos,
SG
